Our Story
At MsMissMrs we know that when a woman is empowered, there isn’t much she can’t do.
With strong self-esteem and positive well-being, women can take on life’s challenges with resilience. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to empower girls and women!
Our story started back in 2014. Our founder Sylvie imagined a community of thriving women, despite the inequalities they live with. She created MsMissMrs to support women who have suffered trauma and who are living in poverty.
From the first Get S.E.T. Rebuild Programme seven years ago – and thanks to some quirky pants and incredible support in the form of investment, grants and partners – MsMissMrs has come a long way. We now host several initiatives focused on emotional, physical, mental and social wellbeing at our self-care hub, delivering dignified food in our purpose-built kitchen and making Empowerment pants in our micro manufacturing space (womanufacture) here in glasgow.

I was quite isolated."

OUR MISSION
-
To re-empower women, who face health and wellbeing inequalities whilst living in poverty.
-
To strengthen their capabilities and help them to grow economically, socially, emotionally, and mentally.
-
To support girls and young women, by promoting self-awareness as a tool to empowerment.
Our programmes for women, including Get S.E.T. Rebuild and Femfoods, are designed to help rebuild self-esteem and regain confidence following stress, addiction or trauma. We also have an early intervention programme, Get S.E.T Girls, which supports girls aged 10-16 to understand their worth and realise their potential.
As a social enterprise, we’re not in the business of empowerment to make money, we’re in it to create positive change. By selling Empowerment Pants and Pay-it-forward cards, we’ve been able to reinvest the profits to fund over 500 free places for women and girls on our programmes - and counting!

Our incredible funders have helped us to adapt and grow, responding to the past 18 months with all that a worldwide pandemic has thrown at us. In that time, we have prepared and shared over 20,000 meals, emergency funding support of £35,000 in cash, vouchers and weekly shops, and anything else needed by women and their families.
We now have five months of piloting and supporting alongside the family wellbeing fund. The women we have supported have benefitted by having access to this small fund in a variety of ways: travel cards, extra childcare to enable time to study, family days out, adapted buggies, health and self-care activities, and much more.
We love what we do, and we can’t wait to support more women on their journey to empowerment. Want to get in touch or find out more? We love a blether. Give us a message and we’ll be sure to get back to you as soon as we can!
